Seated Man in Profile is a drawing I did in 1947 when I was still Eleanor Gottesfocht, and an art student at The Educational Alliance in Manhattan. It is charcoal on paper, 22 inches high by 16 inches wide; and 25 by 19 inches, framed. I signed and dated it on the front. The models for most of the drawings I did at The Educational Alliance were local people who agreed to sit for the "life class." This piece was stored with my other student work until 2014 when I came across it in a group of old drawings. As with all my sold work, I send a letter of provenance, which increases the value of the work. This piece is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
Hello!! I am a contemporary realist painter of landscapes, people, still lifes, and abstracts that reflect my love of beauty and the way I see the world. Some paintings deal with peace issues; some are about Climate Change; many have edgy compositions. I never sell prints of my artwork. So, see my descriptions to find out about each piece. Please write to me if you have any questions.
