Metro Music I is the first of a series on people at work in New York City. "Metro Music" refers to subway musicians. In the New York subway system musicians play in passageways and on platforms, and add some pleasure to the frantic rush. This was the passage between the Number 6 train and the E train at Lexington Ave.
It is 26(h) by 20(w) inches, acrylic on stretched canvas. The framed dimensions are 28 x 22 inches. The shadow frame cuts off none of the painting, as other frames do.
The painting is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
Hello!! I am a contemporary realist painter of landscapes, people, still lifes, and abstracts that reflect my love of beauty and the way I see the world. Some paintings deal with peace issues; some are about Climate Change; many have edgy compositions. I never sell prints of my artwork. So, see my descriptions to find out about each piece. Please write to me if you have any questions.
