In The World 7: Westport and Sadr City, is the seventh in my series "In The World." I hoped that the paintings would evoke connection, and maybe a strong feeling in the viewer. Here a peaceful scene on the Saugetuck River, CT, is contrasted with a portrait of an elderly woman holding a bullet that hit her bed during a raid by US and Iraqi troops. (The image of the woman is based on a press photo by Wissam al-Okaili.)
The painting is 20 inches high by 24 inches wide, acrylic on stretched canvas, on heavy duty stretchers, with painted sides. A frame is not necessary. It is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
Hello!! I am a contemporary realist painter of landscapes, people, still lifes, and abstracts that reflect my love of beauty and the way I see the world. Some paintings deal with peace issues; some are about Climate Change; many have edgy compositions. I never sell prints of my artwork. So, see my descriptions to find out about each piece. Please write to me if you have any questions.
