Afternoon Beach is about a mother and daughter at a beach in East Hampton, New York, on a day in September. It was a place I was revisiting after some stormy years, the same place that inspired my painting “East Hampton Light." The area was a bit battered, though not much changed; only now it was inhabited by a charming daughter, who inspired my painting,“Misty Light,” and her mother. The two are also seen in my ACEO: http://www.zibbet.com/Egilpatr/artwork?artworkId=839120
The painting is a shape designed for hard to fill spaces: 30 inches high by 10 inches wide. It is acrylic on stretched canvas, with painted sides (gallery wrapped), so a frame is not necessary. It is signed and dated on the back. I send a letter of provenance, which increases the value of the work. All my artwork is copyrighted by Eleanor Gilpatrick. Copyright is nontransferable through the purchase of artwork.
Hello!! I am a contemporary realist painter of landscapes, people, still lifes, and abstracts that reflect my love of beauty and the way I see the world. Some paintings deal with peace issues; some are about Climate Change; many have edgy compositions. I never sell prints of my artwork. So, see my descriptions to find out about each piece. Please write to me if you have any questions.
